With its dramatic hillside setting overlooking the Fraser River, the Central Neighbourhood Plan represents the first completed neighbourhood in Mission’s designated Silverdale urban growth area. Reflecting the development of a more complete and walkable urban, mixed-use community, we are proud of our continuing work in guiding the strategic growth of Mission as part of a more sustainable region.

Spanning over 1800 acres of second-growth forest, the vision for the Central Neighbourhood Plan is predicated on sensitively integrating growth through principles of sustainability towards fostering a more complete urban community within Silverdale.
The Plan provides for the phased development of a sustainable, mixed-use community structured according to a series of walkable neighbourhood centers, connected network of public parks and trails, offering a full range of housing forms estimated at 10,470 homes with a projected population of 24,400.
Designed to leverage the hillside’s natural features and defining views, the Plan provides for a series of socially-diverse, mixed-use urban neighbourhoods linked together through a network of public parks – setting aside over 40% of the lands as part of the Silverdale Legacy Forest Park – and accessed by a multi-modal transportation network of traffic-calmed streets, tree-lined pathways and forest trails.
Placemark continues to build on this legacy with designs that celebrate all that Fraser Valley living has to offer.
